At Blue Water Jet Ski Tours and Hire you have a choice of three self drive tours with an experienced tour guide, a one and a half hour tour around Flat Top Island and up the Beautiful Pioneer River or three hour tours, either North towards Cape Hillsborough or South towards Dalrymple Bay. Everything is provided including all safety gear, sunscreen, water bottle and goggles, water proof cameras can be purchased. From five years old up catered for and you can drive the Jet Ski from as young as 12 (with adult supervision) or on your own from 16.

The Heritage Walk at the Mackay Cemetery, on Cemetery Road, looks at the history of the Mackay Region between 1862 and 1883 and provides an insight to the lives of the Pioneers of Mackay. The walk is a one and a half kilometre circuit and takes about 45 minutes and can be self walked with the booklets, which are available at Mackay Cemetery. The booklet expands on the lives of those recorded along the walk. Many of the region's most recognised family names are included in this walk, the descendents of which still live in the region.

On each of the four corners of the crossroads you will find the centre piece of the street - four quadrants of the Horizons Mosaic, a sixteen square metre circle depicting the elements - the rage of the cyclones in contrast with the wonderful colours created by the sun and the moon as they rise and set.
